Company History
In November 1961, five brothers laid the foundations of an enterprise which has evolved into a highly successful Construction and Property Development Company with an enviable reputation for building excellence and health and safety.
The brothers - Malachy, Patrick, Vincent, Michael and John - initially worked in road haulage with their first major project in the late '50s being works on the "Preston By-Pass", later to become known as the country's first motorway - the M6.
As the company grew, the brothers began to undertake more and more construction work. They established an industrial estate of 24 premises at Stone Mill in Charnley Fold, Bamber Bridge, Preston. Stone Mill was demolished in the late '60s and the site now hosts Conlon's offices, together with the units.
All five brothers worked in the company until retirement. The last to do so was Malachy, who retired in 1996 and Theresa Noblett (Patrick's daughter) succeeded him as Chairman at that time. There are currently six family members working in the company, including Michael Conlon and Maureen Boland who are Directors.
