Training

It is our policy to ensure that employees receive the training needed to carry out thier jobs in the safest, most efficient way possible. The implementation of the Training Plan route to CITB funding some years ago has ensured that the company can claim funding for a much wider range of training activity. This has benefitted the business enormously and will continue to do so.

Priority has always been given to health & safety and technical training, due to the nature of the industry. In addition, we actively support the achievement of professional qualifications and CPD activities among our staff, and encourage and support self-development in the wider sense.

Management Development Programme

2008 continues with our bespoke Management Development Programme which covers 10 modules of a range of subject areas relevant to the business. Tweny-four members of staff have chosen to take up this training and it is expected that this will remain a feature of our training strategy for the foreseeable future.

The average no of training days per employee over the past 5 years is 8.24 days, and having experienced the benefits that training can bring to the business, it is our intention to maintain this level of training in the years to come.
